Summary

As a member of Kiran’s analytics team, the Analytics Consultant participates in solution delivery and customer acquisition projects solving real-world predictive modeling, forecasting, resource planning and other data analytics problems. Works closely with Kiran’s clients in all phases of the solution delivery from process audit and benchmarking to modeling, implementation, validation and on-going support.

Responsibilities

  • Support client engagements and analytics projects end-to-end
  • Perform data management and analysis on client data
  • Perform data clean-up; identify data discrepancies; generate basic descriptive statistics
  • Query and analyze data using SQL queries; generate charts showing trends, correlations
  • Perform statistical analysis and devise modeling approaches utilizing techniques like regression analysis, simulation modeling, time-series forecasting, queuing/stochastic models, linear/non-linear programming, heuristics/algorithm development, etc.
  • Develop reports (Word and PowerPoint) to document analysis and results
  • Offer creative ideas in design meetings to solve industry or client specific problems
  • Travel (up to 15% of time) to client offices for data collection, meetings and executive presentations

Job Requirements

Education

  • B.S. in industrial engineering, business, statistics, or closely related discipline is required. Masters degree is preferred.
  • Coursework or work experience with statistical analysis is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic statistics (confidence intervals, significance testing, etc.) is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server is required
  • Presentation skills—the candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be driven and a self-starter with the ability to run with a project with little guidance

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of conducting statistical analyses in R or JMP is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and analyze large datasets (50GB+) is preferred
  • Prior experience in the banking industry is preferred

Contact Center Field Study Observer

Put Your Retail Banking Experience to Use in an Exciting New Way!

Kiran Analytics is a leader in retail banking process consulting. Many of our projects involve field studies where we send qualified consultants into our client’s offices to perform observations of their operations. These are highly-paid, short term, contract positions that offer training, travel and on-site work in retail bank contact centers.

You will travel to a designated training facility for 3 days of training.  The travel is at our expense and you are paid for training. Then, you will be assigned to a different contact center each week for 3-4 weeks of the project.  You will learn new skills, meet new people, and most likely travel to new cities!

This is a great opportunity to add a new dimension to your contact center and retail banking experience, add a new line to your resume and get another great employment reference. If you have previous contact center experience, preferably with retail banks, and are available to work on short-term contract work, we would like to speak to you.

Project Details

  • Field Study projects typically last 5 weeks. They include: Three days of on-site training occurs in the first week of the project (training location to be determined). After training, the project involves 4 weeks of field study work in the bank contact centers. Consultants work 3 of those 4 weeks, but applicants must be available to work all four weeks.
  • Work is performed in the contact centers 5 days per week (usually Monday – Friday, but sometimes Tuesday – Saturday).  The work day is approximately 9 hours.
  • Although we try to assign you to a contact center that is local to where you live, you must be willing to travel should we require you at another location.  Because the contact centers to be covered are throughout the US, most consultants travel for one or more weeks.  Travel, lodging and meals are all paid for by the company.
  • The positions involve performing observations of operations conducted by agents in the contact centers. Data collection is conducted using handheld tablet computers.
  • Candidates must be available full-time during the entire duration of the project.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ year experience working in a contact center, preferably with retail banking. Experience as team manager/lead in contact centers is highly desirable.
  • Flexible schedule and 100% availability and WILLINGNESS TO TRAVEL the ENTIRE duration of the project.
  • Reliable transportation and willing to drive to local area contact centers (or stay overnight for locations that are too far for a daily commute).  Travel / lodging expenses paid by company.
  • Strong computer skills including the ability to use Excel, Email, and the Internet.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time and carry a hand held computer for an 8 hour work day.
  • Focused work ethic, professional attire suitable for working in a retail bank, excellent communication skills, and careful attention to detail are necessary.
  • A background check is required to confirm that you are eligible to work inside a bank contact center under Federal, State and local guidelines.

Analytics Summer Intern

Summary

As a member of Kiran’s analytics team, the intern will provide data analysis support in field studies and projects involving top banking institutions in the US, UK, and Canada. The internship will involve working with client data to solve real-world predictive modeling, forecasting, and resource planning problems.

The location for this position is the Kiran Analytics office located in San Diego, CA. Local candidates are preferred, as no housing allowance will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Import data into Excel or SQL server database
  • Perform data clean-up; identify data discrepancies; generate basic descriptive statistics
  • Query and analyze data using SQL queries; generate charts showing trends, correlations
  • Perform basic statistical testing; perform regression analysis under the guidance of the project manager; generate summary charts for reporting
  • Develop reports (Word and PowerPoint) to document analysis and results

Qualifications

Education

  • Must be actively enrolled in a B.S. or Master’s program in industrial engineering, applied math, statistics, or closely related discipline
  • Coursework or work experience with statistical analysis is required
  • 6+ months of work or academic project experience analyzing large datasets is preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic to intermediate level statistics is required
  • Proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, Pivot and Trend charts, Data tables, and Look-Up functions)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is required
